The Stop & Think Social Skills Program

Based on his understanding that we can no longer rely completely on families to teach children positive social skills and nonviolent approaches to conflict resolution, Howard Knoff created The Stop & Think Social Skills Program for educators who want safer classrooms and environments that are conducive to learning.

The nationally field-tested program, which is organized into four grade-specific sets (PreK-1, 2-3, 4-5, and 6-8), builds social, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills while creating a system of accountability. Project ACHIEVE, which contains the Stop & Think Social Skills Program, has been designated as a model program by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). It also has been recognized as a CASEL SELECT Program (the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning) and was recently cited as an Exemplary Mental Health Program by the National Association of School Psychologists.
