A statewide early literacy professional development initiative by the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) is showing dramatic improvement in the quality of teacher instruction and student engagement, according to a study recently released by the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southeast administered by Florida Center for Reading Research (FCRR) at Florida State University.

Voyager Sopris Learning® has announced the presenter lineup—headed by leading experts in literacy education—for its 2017 Literacy Symposium, a premier two-day online professional development event this summer. With the goal of linking practitioners to the most current research in the science of literacy, the two sessions will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. EDT on consecutive Mondays, July 10 and July 17.
